- Use this menu to change how the painting tools operate, how shapes are drawn, and to magnify your view of the card (the "FatBits" item).

- Constrains line, shape and text painting operations to an invisible 8 x 8 pixel grid that overlays the card.

- Constrains line, shape, and text painting to an 8 x 8 grid. To turn off the grid constraint, choose this item again.

- Magnifies your view of the card so you can use the paint tools to edit pictures in fine detail. To return to normal scale, choose this item again.

- You're in the magnified "FatBits" view.
- To return to the actual-size view, choose this item again.

- Lets you use keystrokes to perform paint operations.

- For example, type:
- "s" to select paint,
- "t" to make a selection transparent.

- Note: The Message box must be hidden.

- Shows a palette so can choose a width for the line tool. You use the same width to draw shape edges.

- Shows a palette so you can choose a brush shape.

- Tip: To erase in fine detail, choose a suitably small brush; then erase by holding down the command key as you drag.

- Edits the current pattern.

- Changes the number of sides used when drawing regular polygons.

- Examples:
- 3 sided = triangle,
- 5 sided = pentagon,
- 8 sided = octagon.

- To draw paint shapes filled with the current pattern, choose this item.

- Fills Paint shapes with the current pattern as you draw. To draw just shape outlines, choose this item again.

- To draw shapes centered around where you start to drag, choose this item.
